Help or a hindrance? It’s a toss-up between the two when it comes to getting the little ones involved in the kitchen.
With 1 in 5 Aussie parents admitting we’re too tired or worried about the mess, and almost a third saying our kids are too busy on devices, we’ve got some tips on how to get the whole family in the kitchen, cooking up a storm.
1. PLAN WITH THE FAM: Get the kids involved in meal planning. This can be as easy as asking them for their choice of meal, or cooking their favorite takeaway dish from scratch. Try to limit choices and offer healthy alternatives.
2. GROW YOUR OWN: You don’t need a lot of space to grow your own eatable garden. Whether it’s a full veggie garden or just a few herbs, there’s nothing more rewarding for your little ones to learn about where food comes from.
